Almost all of us can point to a specific area and say “I want to lose fat here.” The truth is we can’t just pick where to target specific fat loss. Anyone or anything that tells you you can is making promises they can’t keep or just straight lying.
So what can we do? We can use fitness-related activities to burn calories to reduce overall body fat. Where that body fat is taken from is up to your specific body. But reducing overall body fat puts us on the path to where we want to be.
Additionally, we can double down on fat loss by incorporating fitness-related activities that help develop more or new lean muscle mass to tone up areas of our bodies. With this, we can target specific areas if desired. Presses, push-ups, and pull-ups are great for the upper body, and squats, deadlifts, and box jumps are great for the lower body. And no we’re not talking about adding bulk or getting bulky, that doesn’t just happen. You have to want and work for that to happen (but we’ll leave that for a later discussion).
So what can we do at EBCF? At EBCF we create programs to help you achieve the goals you’ve been aiming at. With our Personal Training programs, we custom-tailor a specific program for exactly what you’re looking for. With our small group classes, we create a program that focuses on a broad base of fitness.
You can do one, the other, or a combination of both. The key is that with whatever you choose, you must find consistency. With consistency comes results. The results of increased fitness, increased strength, built muscle, etc. All while burning those calories to help facilitate fat loss. Please note: progress will be gradual, abs don’t just start popping out overnight. Over time you will notice changes in how your clothes feel/fit, increased energy levels, and visible body changes. Gradual progress is sustainable progress. Anything extreme in short periods of time typically doesn’t last. So trust the process.
And you can accelerate the fat loss progress by pairing your fitness routines with improved nutritional habits (FYI you will need to create a caloric deficit to lose weight). With these improved habits, we can help create caloric deficits to aid in weight loss. Not sure how to do that? We can help with that too!
